GREEN THE GRID!
A downloadable game
"I felt like a climate kaiju." -- Jaffa 6, playtester.
GREEN THE GRID! is a game that has been sitting in my mind for a long time, and it only found form thanks to Rowan Rook & Decard's Havoc Engine Game Jam, for which this is an entry.
What is this game?
It's a Captain Planet feel-good solarpunk adventure that starts with the personified essences of Oil, Coal, and Methane wreaking havoc across the land and ends with a 100% renewable energy power grid and Capitalism lying dead in a ditch.
What's in the book?
Five pregenerated characters, a 16-hex map of the power grid, some really tight rules explanations (if I do say so myself), more Fossils than you can throw into the Sun, and a robot dog who installs batteries and fixes transformers. (No, not that kind.)
What else is there?
Demanding, aren't we? Fortunately I also made a non-layout, text only PDF.
What else will there be?
Who among us knows the future? Who among us can say what strange events await us further down the time axis that is our lives? Que sera, sera, my friend.
I meant game stuff.
Oh! Well in that case expect a google sheets based VTT before the week is out.
I see the game is free.
Yes.
....
Yes?
Will it be free forever?
Probably not! It will remain free at least until the end of April 2026, for purposes of being reviewed in the aforementioned game jam. After that, I'm likely to at least slap a suggested price on it.
